farinata


As promised, I made torta de ceci - or farinata - in an attempt to relive my livornese experience of last weekend (recipe below).

Of course, nothing could compete with greasy sandwiches on a pier in the middle of the night, but it was still pretty damn tasty. Although I couldn't find farina di ceci and had to settle for indian chick pea flour, which i think was responsible for the slightly bitter flavour of my finished product. Oh well, good excuse to get back to Italy soon.
